This course develops and strengthens skills in constructing and delivering Syllabus cs8100 2015 1 and presentations.

The goal is to achieve oral proficiency through a combination of critical analysis and practice. In addition to examining the evolution of communication technologies, the course will track the intellectual, institutional and socio-political influence that helped to foster the emergence and shape the growth of the communication discipline in the twentieth century.

The emphasis is on providing students with the knowledge to be a critical research consumer and buyer. Students will learn about quantitative, qualitative, and interpretative perspectives in research, and the advantages and disadvantages of different research methods, such as the historical method, in-depth interview, focus group, survey, and content analysis.

Students will gain some hands-on experience in implementing studies, analysing quantitative and qualitative data, and presenting findings to different types of audience.
